Serenity Self Care | Dorothy R

Dorothy Ross

Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor

I became a counsellor because years ago  I  had a good experience of therapy.  To be really listened to and understood by a complete stranger was a powerful experience and one which I knew I wanted to provide for others. I  was a Primary Care Counsellor for 15 years, and have worked with many clients from all backgrounds and with a variety of issues,  I  believe people can find their own solutions to their emotional difficulties if they can be listened to and responded to without judgement, or being told what to do.  As a supervisor, I strive to offer the same way of being with supervisees, not forgetting my responsibility towards their clients.

Serenity Self Care | Emma S

Emma Slater

Holistic Therapist

My name is Emma, I’m a Holistic therapist, Reiki practitioner & Masseuse.
I started out as a beauty therapist & progressed onto holistic therapies after noticing how much better my clients felt after a bit of pampering & self-care. I enjoy all aspects of my work & find that by going that extra mile for clients gives me a feeling of job satisfaction. I often find it’s the clients who don’t spend much time on themselves that realise what they’re missing & come back for more treatments.
I feel self-care isn’t a luxury it’s a requirement, especially with the busy lifestyles most of us lead. Sometimes we need a little nudge to show us how self-care is beneficial & that is what I’m here for. We all need a little time out or relaxation time whether that be Reiki, Meditation, Massage the choice is endless.

Fozia Riaz

Holistic Therapist

Hi my name is Fozia. I’m a fully qualified beauty therapist. I offer a variety of treatments including massage, deep tissue Swedish massage, aromatherapy, Hot stones and Indian head massage.

Im a friendly, fun loving individual and a people person. Becoming a Beauty therapist was always my dream job from a young age. I have always taken great pride in my work and  I’m constantly trying to better my skills to ensure my knowledge is up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques available
I have great passion and drive for the work I do to ensure I can help people feel better about themselves, mentally and physically, to relax and de-stress them.
We give our time to each and all, but sometimes we need some time to ourselves for a little pamper or just to step aside, relax and re balance.

Each package is tweaked to the individual needs of each person – as no one’s body, needs and goals are exactly the same. Serenity Self Care | H Towers

Heather Towers

Serenity and Own-Based Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor

I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. As a counsellor, I adapt and integrate my three theories to meet your individual needs – initially, it is my role to explore what may work for you and support you through the process, making any necessary adaptations as we progress.

I believe we all have the potential for growth and it is a continuous process. Through counselling we can gain the ability to access this potential to discover parts of ourselves that we have not yet recognised and make the necessary changes to enable us to progress.

Supervision is the lynchpin of my own counselling practice. It provides an insight into the relationship between supervisee and client; and with appropriate challenge, we gain insight into how our processes become intertwined with our practice, helping us to move forward and improve the quality of our work. I believe a good relationship is based on trust, honesty and a mutual congruence. This is something I would aim to expand on in my work with you.

I am an Associate therapist for Serenity and also work from my own base in Oswaldtwistle, giving you an option for the same price.

I charge £35 per hourly session for counselling with a discount of £5 per session for a block booking of 4 (£120). For trainee counsellors, I charge £30 per session.

For supervision, £50 per one and a half hour session, £35 for trainees.

All sessions are payable in advance.

Serenity Self Care | Dora M

Dora Massey

Serenity and Own-Based Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor

I can offer a safe, confidential, non- judgemental place in which you can feel listened to. I know how vital this can be during stressful, depressing or traumatic times during our lives.

I myself came into counselling during a traumatic life changing time of my life and I know from experience how helpful counselling can be. After my counselling I knew I would like to be involved in helping others in a way that I had been helped in sharing issues and looking at them from a new perspective.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2003. Whilst training, I felt an affinity with certain models of counselling which are basically solution focussed, helping the client to find a way forward, and integrating this with my listening, person –centred approach thus building a therapeutic relationship. I became a voluntary counsellor at the Women’s Centres in Blackburn, Accrington and Burnley as well as counselling privately at home.

I like to engage with clients in a relational way and bring all my past experience into creating an individual approach with each client. Sometimes using creative or art therapies which clients may find useful whilst working towards a good outcome.

I am an associate therapist for Serenity and also work from my own home in Darwen, this also being a quiet and peaceful location with plenty of off-road parking. In my private practice based from my home, I charge £35.00 for an hourly session of counselling. £30.00 for trainees.

£40.00 for supervision of one and a half hours. £35.00 for trainees.
